Christmas Fun With Advent Calendar… and Other Christmas Events
Everyday the kids would open up one of the advent calendar boxes with something fun to do. Here were the things they did.
Dagen was very excited to show me her loose tooth! And boy was I shocked to see that it really was! Isn’t 5 a little early for a loose tooth? Looking back at all the other kids, they still had all their baby teeth.
Kallie’s letter: Dear Santa I have been really good. For Christmas I want a Monster High doll, new Polly Pockets, Lalaloopsies, new Barbie dolls, Legos, a Riprider, hand sanitizer, and a whole pack of bow and arrows. Please can I have all of it. And a Pop the Pig (game), and perfume, and Doggy Doo (game), and a Santa doll, and an elf doll, and a big Pillow Pet.
Kallie’s add-on to her letter (she just cracks me up): From Kallie to Santa and Jingles (our elf on the shelf) and I also want Orbeez, sandals, and dresses for my Build a Bear. Thank you.
This is how Santa gets the letters these days… through Jingles, our elf on the shelf.
Here is a quick picture of us at the Dollar Store shopping for presents for each other. It’s tough making sure no one sees each others’ gifts, but it sure makes it fun!
Here are a few pics of us at the mall, waiting to see Santa. We then chose a Christmas house to buy from Hallmark, followed by a trip to Baskin Robbins. Talk about a fun night together!

I took my activity day girls to the nursing home to sing Christmas carols.
We sang Christmas carols at the nursing home we visit monthly.
We met up with the family for a really nice Chinese dinner together, then McCormack Railroad, and lastly, the crazy decked out house of lights.
Our friend throws a huge white elephant exchange party. Well, Mike got the idea from a friend to give a chicken. The chicken sat in that closed box the whole time, not making a peep. It didn’t move at all. No one even suspected anything live was inside. So it was quite a surprise to everyone when our gift was opened and a chicken was looking up at them. How will we beat that one next year? hmmmm.
It got stolen, in the game, a couple times too! So funny!
This is what we got stuck with.
Here was Christmas Eve at Grandma’s house. The nativity play always seems to improve and get a little easier with each year. The kids are older too, so that may have something to do with it.
