Isaac’s
Field Trip
The whole 1st and 2nd grades took a field trip together on Wednesday, which I was able to attend, thanks to Mama Judy watching Kallie and Dagen for me all day. The bus arrived at 8:30am and we got back at 3:00. One bus was all it took for the two 1st and two 2nd grade classrooms and the few parents who chaperoned. We went to the Great Arizona Puppet Theater and then the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum.

Here’s one of the dads joking around about how loud it was on the bus.

This was my cute little group I was in charge of.

And yes… times were crazy.

This lady used these puppets to perform Rupunzel. She did all the voices and movement for the puppets and was really good!

Then we drove to a park near the rock museum, to eat lunch.

Here’s Isaac with his cousin, Collin. Two peas in a pod, I say. Heather and I were watching them eat and it was so funny to see them act just as Dave and Mike do.

This girl cracked me up. She is such a cutie. She picked up her sandwich and after the first bite, it fell apart on her. You can’t see it, but she had mayo all down her hair, on her skirt, her leg, and all over her hands.

The top of where we were eating was lined with spikes to keep birds away. Well, surprisingly, there were two bird nests there. Those would be some VERY PERSISTENT birds, wouldn’t you say?

The kids are all about finding lady bugs in the field at school. Jaidyn brings home a container with at least 10 inside, everyday. Well, the fields were full of them here as well. So this little girl found this pair here. All us adults were just laughing, and I said, “Oh cute. You found best friends!”
The little girl holding them responded, “Actually, their not best friends… their mating. Do you know what that means? That means their making babies.”
My jaw dropped at that moment.
1st grade!

The kids got to pick out 3 rocks each. And then they went home with a bag full of polished colored rocks.

Collin’s class (19 kids)

Isaac’s class (15 kids) and one I know was at home, sick.
