Happy
Birthday
Dagen
With all of us being sick the week of her birthday, we had to postpone her little party.
Today is Weston’s birthday and we figured it’d be easier for everyone to get together once, so they are celebrating together tonight. I think I mentioned before, how it’s tradition to have balloons in their room first thing when they wake. I used to scatter them up on the ceiling, but with fans in every room here in AZ, it’s a little scary, hoping the kids don’t turn the fan on and tangle them all up inside… so I’ve had to improvise the past few birthdays and display them differently.
Dagen was so cute. “Witty!” (pretty) was what she said over and over again. She loved the balloons on the floor and was throwing them in the air saying “Boing!” and then laughing and rolling over them.

And the kitchen was decorated in Abby Cadabby theme. “Witty!!!”

We enjoyed a little breakfast cereal before the kids went off for school and sang Happy Birthday. The kids never forget to include the “cha cha cha’s and ooh la la’s” in between.

And then the opening of one present in the morning. She chose my parent’s gift to open. Dagen is always all about dancing and this piano plays a million cute songs and even has a microphone for her to sing into. Thanks Mom and Dad!
When we ask Dagen how old she is, she says, “Doo.” and holds up 5 fingers.

She had so much fun with her hats. She’d put them on her head and say, “Abby, aw you?” (Abby, where are you?) and then look for her and then say, “Deh wah” (there you are).

Kallie’s 1st
Day of
Preschool
Not only is it Dagen’s birthday celebration today, but also Kallie’s day. She kept asking when it was time to go. Since Jaidyn and Isaac leave the early hour of 7:20, she had quite a while to wait until 9am when preschool would begin. We even left early, ‘cause she wanted to go so badly. We got there 15 minutes early and drove around the neighborhood playing “I spy game” in the car and singing ABC song and counting to 20.

When we FINALLY went in, she walked upstairs and found her friend Abby.

Kallie went in… no blankie, no tears… she was very brave and very excited and not at all sad, but Mommy was having a hard time saying bye and not getting those kisses and hugs I thought I’d be getting from her when it was time for me to leave. I thought she would be nervous and hugging my leg or hiding behind it. Nope… she was already busy socializing!

When Dagen and I got home. Dagen kept saying, “Cake, cake mmmmm” and making chomping noises. So we made her cupcakes… just her and I… all alone…
It was very strange to have just Dagen with me and no other kids asking for my attention.

And there were no fights as to who would get the beaters.
After cupcakes we let go one of her balloons.

Dagen: “Byeeeee bwoon!”
