Beautiful Seattle
What a wonderful change in weather for us. To get away from the heat and come to perfect 70 degree weather was breathtaking.
This was the view right out my door to my room. I had my o wn personal door out to the deck.

We woke up late around 9am.
Nice break from the usual 5 when Mike wakes, and 6 when I wake.
This is Craig who chilled with us and is the owner of this beautiful place.

I sat reading outside and took in the views, the weather, the peaceful sounds of the water rushing in and out and the sounds of the birds chirping away. What a dream come true. In fact, while reading I looked up and saw a bald eagle flying right past my view. Craig later told us that bald eagles reside there and have a nest not too far away. He took Mike to see it. Here is Mike looking at them before Craig took him closer.

Craig has some crab cages, that Mike and Jas went out and dropped out in the water. After getting back, the guys went and chopped up a huge tree that had fallen in the woods. Manly man time.

Later, Mike and I went in one kayak and Cyn and Jas in another and paddled all the way to Hope Island and watched cranes fly right over us. We pulled up both cages to find that one had 5 crabs and the other none. Craig showed us how to tear the claws off and clean them.
I got over a lot of fears during this 2 hour span of time. One, my fear of going in a small kayak in the middle of the frigid 40 degree cold ocean (can you say, hypothermia), and my fear of live crab. I picked one up and threw it in the bucket. That was my contribution to dinner.

We were only able to keep the males and had to throw back the females. Craig showed us the difference between the two. The shape on the back of the shell is different.

This is what Cyn and I both looked like when we got out of our kayaks. Like we had peed our pants. I was soaked from head to toe since I sat in the back and Mike paddled like a mad man.

Fresh seafood from the backyard. and Pike Place Market.

Saturday was just amazing.
