Surprise Breaking Dawn Trip 2
Once again my hubbie pulled off quite a fun surprise trip with some friends of his. When Mike and the guys were out on their last hike together, they talked about doing this for us ladies. I’m one lucky girl. Thank you, honey for always making everyday of my life wonderful.
I had plans with Mike to go to dinner and to see the premiere early showing of Breaking Dawn Part 2. So when I hurried home from getting the kids from school and then getting dressed and ready to go out, a limo pulls up and then the red flag in my head came up…. what’s is going on??? The kids in the neighborhood all crowded around the hummer limo to get a peek inside. My kids had no idea either, that anything was planned.
So we went on to picking up friends along the way. I didn’t know who was going to get in the limo next, but every one of their kids were out just getting home from school and I was able to get all their reactions.
And last was Leilanni. And she had been at the Twilight marathon since early that morning and had planned on going through to the midnight showing with some friends of hers. Little did she know her night would be going in a different direction. Dave had to find her inside and call her out without letting her know what for. It wasn’t til she saw me open the limo door that she got a clue that something big was up.
The guys told us nothing along the way. The limo pulled into PF Changs and when we walked in, the table was all ready to go and the food immediately started to fill the table. Mike and the guys had ordered everything ahead of time, so that when we sat down all would come out at once. We ate and was done 15 minutes after getting there!!! Crazy and hilarious.
We enjoyed our Martinellis on our way to the midnight showing.
Talk about funny… pulling into the Harkins movie theater in a limo just to watch Breaking Dawn. hahahaha. I’m sure everyone watching got a good laugh out of that one.
Inside keeping a place in line for us since 4 or 5 hours earlier than our arrival, was my sweet awesome nephew, Conner. How cool was that? I gave him a big hug and thanked him and off he went back home, an hour drive to Mesa, so I thought was where he was going.
After the movie, we expected the limo to drive us back, but waiting in front was a van and I immediately noticed the back completely packed full of stuff. Couldn’t tell what, other than Costco food and packs of toilet paper. The others didn’t even notice, so I kept my mouth shut. We couldn’t get any info out of them, til we guessed the plan. Guesses flowed through the van, until Heidi guessed it right. She had been to the cabin with us before, so she guessed a trip to Mike’s parents cabin. The ladies freaked out and started making calls and making sure everything was covered while they would be away. Kids’ lessons, games, etc.
First stop though before cabin… Walmart. Anything the guys had forgotten to pack for their wives, was bought there. And then we got stuck in the hat section and purchased a few.
… and about my nephew and his “drive home after the movies”… he actually drove to my place and stayed overnight with my niece to watch the kids for us with help from Mike’s mom. Wow.
We raced around in the razors, shot some guns, went through a deep cave, shot off some rockets, relaxed some, watched funny clips off YouTube, ate all day long like we were starving, played a little Mafia, had a little photo shoot, and slung some eggs with a giant slingshot.
The guys had everything under control in the kitchen. They had all meals planned out and prepared to perfection. Impressive, I say!!!
Laughed so hard from beginning to end. Love these great friends of ours!!!
