DAY SEVEN
We said our goodbyes to the Maxfields and then met up with my best buds from Missouri. Thanksgiving Point seems to be our meeting place now. We ate a little lunch there before going over to the petting zoo from some crazy fun for the kids.
Louri’s parents were in town with Kelly’s kids and was a bonus to the get together. I’ve known these guys since I was a kid! So fun to see them.
BUSTED!
Isaac’s hands were filthy. He kept putting his hands out begging for more corn to feed the animals. Reminded me of some orphan child beggin for food.
I can be such a kid sometimes. I dared CJ to put some corn on his head and let the goat eat of it.
And what a way to finish things off with a little ice cream for some very hot and sweaty kids.
Dagen, surprisingly, lately has not been a big fan of ice cream so she opted out for a cookie, that happened to be the size of her head.
We had some time to spare before heading over to stay with our friends Mike and Angela, so we said goodbye to Louri, her parents, and Lindsay and went over across the street to Cabelas. My kids just LOVE this place and we only go here when we’re in Utah.
My only problem with camping is that Mike likes to go to this place that has no bathrooms. So Mike fixed that problem with a little purchase of a potty bucket and a small pop up tent for a little privacy. Problem solved. They had about 4 to choose from and Dagen thought this was what you do with one of them. She called us over and said, “Like dis, Mommy?” We all couldn’t stop laughing.
Mike put some to the test, but almost fell over the one Dagen was playing in. Not sturdy enough, I guess. hahahaha. So we went with a simple bucket.
Mike and Angela have been our friends way back since Jaidyn was newborn. Mike and Mike have been friends long before that even. They were mission companions in Tawaiin. They both together started Blankdecks.com and later parted from that and my Mike went his way with home security and Mike continued with it and with exporting and importing and had done pretty well. We built homes together and were neighbors in Cedar Hills, then we built again and now this is the house they just built and designed themselves, just down the way from our last home. Just amazing.
As Jaidyn stepped out of the car she said, “This is going to be an adventure!”
The kids stayed in the chinese room.
Here is the king of the castle. Just to the right of this niche was another chess piece. The queen. Too cute.
And not only did their home have a theater, a dance room, a pizza oven, 6 bedrooms, 7 1/2 baths, and a library, but yess….. an indoor pool. Genius, these guys.
Their library was so neat. They had all their things from their travels displayed in it. Mike has been to over 60 countries and to all 7 continents! Impressive!
Their kids are so adorable. My kids had a blast playing with Rand and Vienna. Rand was really camera shy though, so I couldn’t get very many of him.
Saturday
DAY EIGHT
We ate at a place called Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch but in actuality was Craigos Pizza from Rexburg Idaho. Does anyone remember those way delicious cheesy breaksticks there? Well, it’s now in Utah and was a hit, I think! It is now an all you can eat salad and pizza buffet and do die for! The dessert pizza was amazing too. You gotta try this place! Brought back memories of my college days!
Angela is so cute with her pregnant belly of hers.
We had dessert once again at Sub Zero Ice Cream and took the kids this time. They loved it!
And then had another dip in the pool before a watching Cars Movie in their theater!
Dinner was so good. Gourmet cooking on their tepanyaki grill outside.
And then enjoyed some yummy smores for more dessert!
Thank you guys soooo much for letting us visit with you and stay in your beautiful home with your beautiful family!
What a great vacation!!!
