Father’s Day
2010
Here is an argument Mike and I have had since spring.
Mike wants to make sure the grass is watered and green.
I want to make sure the grassy part is ok for the kids to play on and not a swamp land that brings every single fly and bug into our yard.
This is what Father’s Day morning looked like in our backyard. We ALWAYS have problems with our sprinklers and EVERY TIME the yard gets flooded like this, Mike says, “Honey, I’ll fix the timer on it… I’ll fix the broken sprinkler head… or I’ll fix it so it only goes on for 15 min a day.”
… and he DOES… try to fix them, but the yard for some odd reason… KEEPS FLOODING!!
****Sigh****
The kids made breakfast for Daddy.
Mike’s request for Father’s Day breakfast: sausage links, scrambled eggs with cheese, and a toasted bagel with butter and honey.
His wish was my command.
We woke Mike at 7, ‘cause he JUST DOESN’T LIKE TO SLEEP IN.
(can you believe that? That’s what I LOVE about Mother’s Day… sleeping in.)
After breakfast, the kids lined up to give Daddy their presents to him.
Here are the coupons that Kallie came up with for Daddy. She had me write them on a piece of paper and then copied them onto her own cut up papers. Her handwriting was impressive.
Here is Isaac’s card to Daddy. I like the pictures below of each numbered reason he loves his Daddy.
His stick figures are adorable. Look at the bottom right picture of Mike and Isaac playing Wii together. And the one above it of Mike making a shake in a blender.
And here are Isaac’s coupons he came up with. He made two of each one.
Jaidyn was so proud of her first Father’s Day purchase for Daddy. She spent $5 of her own money and bought a book called I Love You Daddy. Mike read it with her upstairs soon after.
She also made this cute card for him.
Dagen was VERY BUSY trying on Daddy’s shoes the whole time.
Mike’s Father’s Day Dinner request: country style bbq ribs, corn on the cob, peas, and caesar salad.
Isaac absolutely positutely loves caesar salad.
“I love caesar salad more than the moon!”
Jaidyn can’t get enough ribs.
“This is the BEST DINNER OF MY WHOLE LIFE!”
It was a great day.
The kids and I love their Daddy to pieces. He is the best Daddy ever!
So You Think
You Can
Dance…
Dance…
Dance…
Dance…
We cheered our baby on as he showed off his break dancing skills in his recital.
Go Isaac, go Isaac, go Isaac!
He made us soooo proud. He said he was nervous before going, but you couldn’t tell.
The other two kids in his class are 12 and 14… and then there’s little Isaac, who’s only 7, but keeping up with the big boys.

Home to
Missouri
This was my 3rd trip back to Missouri in the last 12 years. The first time was just Jaidyn and I when she was about 5 mths old, then the 2nd time was back in October with Mike and the kids, and 2 weeks ago… all by myself. It was really neat being able to wake up and sit with my parents eating breakfast, not worrying about getting my kids food or getting them ready for the day. We could have quiet conversations with no interruptions. I asked my Dad about his parents and some childhood stories. It was a very relaxing get away and it was nice. The reason for the visit? My cousin Julie was getting married. My last visit, I saw half my Dad’s family, but the other half was flying in from all over and I was soooo excited to catch up with what they’ve been up to the past 10 or so years. Here’s a picture I found sitting around the house and had to take a picture of it.
I was really close to all my Dad’s side of the family growing up. We would spend many birthday celebrations together and holidays were always filled with tons of cousins and fun.
It was soooo hot during the wedding. The humidity was thick in the air. We were all sweating bullets, but the wedding was beautiful and the bride was gorgeous.
These are Julie’s parents who have been married for a LOOONG time.
(My Aunt Linda and Uncle John)
Me and my cousins
Angie (Julie’s sister), Barbara, and Autumn
My cousin, Dave (Julie’s brother)
One of my closest cousins growing up
Love this guy!
My cousin, Jenny (Julie’s twin sister)
My cousin, J.C. (John) (Julie’s brother)
… and then… it was off to the reception
My cousin, Ryan (Barbara’s brother) and his girlfriend
Angie’s family and one on the way
My cousin, Bob and Uncle John (Julie’s brother and Dad)
The food was grubbin’! So good! I stuffed my face until I could stuff it no more!
Uncle John, his sister, Mom, Dad, and Uncle Tom (my Dad’s brother)
All of my Dad’s siblings except Uncle Phil was missing
Aunt Rosie, Uncle Tom, Aunt Rosie, Aunt Linda, and Dad
Marge and Tom
Aunt Rosie and Uncle Mike
We were having some fun, being immature and crazy
Dollar Dance
Whoever wanted to dance with the bride or groom would put in a dollar and get about a minute to dance with them and the lines would form behind the two and the music would go on until the line was gone.
We were rocking the dance floor until midnight and it continued on without us. Even the kids were crazy on the dance floor.
