That’s one BIG tooth!

After Isaac’s dental work, he continued to complain about one of his molars he had filled in.  Well, x rays pulled up that all was well, but then the gum above it started to swell and it was even more bothersome.  I guess after getting the tooth filled, the nerve had decided to die in the tooth and therefore caused an infection and pain.  So the choice was either to do a root canal or pull it out.  It was recommended we pull it.  So everything it fine now, but we are watching to make sure that the other baby teeth don’t crowd into the whole, before the permanent one comes in.  If so, then a spacer will be needed.  This was his 12 year old molar.  We may have awhile.

Isaac was so brave and a trooper.  He cried a little when the couple shots were given, mainly the one in the roof of his mouth.  Poor baby.  But he did well.  And if you’ve ever seen the episode on the Three Stooges before, where they are trying to pull out the tooth with pliers.  That’s what it almost looked like.  How the tooth had to be wiggled and pulled out was amazing.  Isaac watched SpongeBob on the screen above him and was a champ.

And boy.. was he excited to get $ from the tooth fairy.  He guessed he’d be getting $2 instead of the usual dollar.  To his surprise, there was a glittery $5 bill under his pillow!
