 Another

Accident

Yesterday, Isaac was minding his own business at recess when the school basketball hoop fell on his head!  Yep, that’s right.  Recess was over, he went to grab his lunch box by the hoop and down it fell.  It gave him a pretty gnarly bruise on his shoulder and a huge cut on the top of his head.  The nurse called me explaining what had happened and that they weren’t sure whether he’d be needing stitches or not and to come get him.  Poor kid.  I called Mike on my way out to let him know, and since his work is right next to their new school, Mike went and took care of the situation, while I put Dagen down for a nap.

The reason that a huge heavy basketball hoop would fall on a kid at school is this:  The school is now in a new location (brand new), the playground area is still being worked on, grass was just laid today, actually, and there were two hoops.  One of the bottoms had been filled with sand and the other hadn’t been filled yet and was turned around so kids wouldn’t use it.  Somehow a teacher had turned it around thinking it ok for the kids to use and down it fell.

My son was the first bloody accident at this new school.  Yea for Isaac!

Mike took him to an urgent care who said no stitches would be needed, but 3 staples.

Poor kid! I hope the school covered your medical costs! He deserves automatic straight A's for the year. ;)

Ouch! Poor kiddo! So did you decide to stick with the charter or did you go with a different school? It looks to me like youare sticking with the charter cause your kids are still wearing uniforms.
